T&T games were a challenge for the kids and the leaders this year. TWO churches cancelled and we had a lot of kids at KABC. Coach Worley was asked to split our kids into two teams so we could have a total of seven teams competing. With us having two teams, more of our kids got to compete in more events. A bonus for them. The hard part was coaching the two separate teams, helping the kids understand why we were competing against our own church kids, and keeping morale up when our alternate team was getting beat repeatedly by our other team.
In the end, it was good. KABC took home both first place and third place. Quite an accomplishment.
Connor had a VERY hard time understanding all of this. He was on the third place team. Competing against his brother. There go my years of encouraging teamwork. He was embarassed, ashamed, and really hurt on top of the confusion and excitement and exhaustion. Poor boy. One emotion at a time!
Devin came up with the explanation of offense and defense. Connor understands football so this worked. While offense does most of the scoring, the whole team - offense and defense - wins. Connor just happened to be on the defensive team helping KABC take home the trophy.
Gotta say, I'm proud of Devin for coming up with the analogy. It was what Connor needed to help him understand.
Of course, I'd like to re-emphasize that in all of this chaos - KABC took home the trophy for Sparks and T&T. How cool are we!!

VERY KEWL!!! Just tell me that's not the very pregnant Cindy Snapp in the third picture. She doesn't look pregnant at all, much less like she is 9 months pregnant, but it does look like her. I enlarged it, but it was very fuzzy so I couldn't tell for sure.
Anna, I think it is Cindy...
And Kelley, tell Connor he will always be a WINNER in my eyes!!
I really miss those kids!! Let them all know that I am proud of them.
