Starstruck

I didn't want to go. It was a long drive away, in Tampa traffic, and my kids weren't at all interested. But my mom was, so I went for my mom. We ended up standing in line for a few hours, but I made conversation with other ladies in line and ragged on the people in charge for...well, for whatever reason I could find.

But we got to meet Trisha Yearwood and her mom and sister. All three ladies were very sweet and took time to talk to us. They were interested in my homeschooling and said my children were very well behaved for having stood in line for a few hours. (Gameboys are a good investment, if used at times like these.)

My mom was soooo nervous and I kept telling her that Trisha Yearwood is just a human being. Of course, she's beautiful. She's married to Megastar Garth Brooks and they have their own airplane. Forget that you saw her on The View the day before. Or that you paid big bucks to see this girl sing in February or that you own every one of her albums and hers was the SECOND CD I ever purchased. Oh, and forget the awards she's won. She's just a normal person. Mom wasn't convinced.

Oops. Why we were there. Trisha, her mother, and sister composed a cookbook and they were there to so sign them. I may actually use this cookbook. Or I'll just read the comments the ladies put in.

mady was star struck once...she and James went to the Barlow Girl concert last fall then waited in line for over an hour to meet them and have them sign something. Yeah...she couldn't say a single word!!!
